Script of Evaluation

Q1)

Saffy
We have used real media product conventions to develop our music video by editing. We have made a clip of walking forwards and reversed it to appear that it is taking a step back. This makes it more interesting to the audience.

We have also challenged media conventions by making to more interesting to the eye by editing the brightness and colour filters to make it look darker and to create an atmosphere. Also we made enlarged clips and added a pulse effect to go with the beat of the song.

Q2

Hayley
The concept that we have created for this music video focuses on a lot on power and attitude. we showed this through body language, costume and effects.

Voice over

  •  We have choreographed big, sharp and attitude movements  
  • We have used a pulse effect to portray power
  • The costumes was selected to look almost manly to the contrast with glamour girl

So in terms of representing this feeling in our digipak we knew we need to focus on power and attitude we felt  our black and white photo of Hayley "the hood chick" got this feeling in a nut shell

Effectively this is showing Hayley pulling out a cigarette and everyone jumping in to her with lighters. we manipulated this photo by copying the same image on top and putting it off centre creating a distorted effect. This was to make it quirky and interesting. The back cover of the album we wanted to keep it simple and non manipulative in order to keep it focused on the front image.

Q3)
We have learned from the feedback that we got that all the performances were very good as we used the genre and focused on the attitude and power. Also the lip syncing of the song was good which were then able to focus on getting the right movements and actions we wanted. Also we learnt that for filming we had know what we were filming and we had to keep to the deadlines otherwise we would not have enough time to finish  the project and also with editing we had to keep enough time to be able to finish editing our music video. Also the clips match the song and the lyrics which made powerful and with attitude.

Q4)

We used new media technology in construction research new ideas and possible effects we could use. We used the internet mainly to look on youtube to watch past music videos  and analyse them, We also used the internet to find background images for green screen. Also we took test photos and footage to see if it would work and with what type angle and camera shot needed for our music video.
